Happy last day of November! Every year as I approach the Christmas season, my heart desires to be refocused on what the true meaning of Christmas really is… celebrating the birth of our Savior. The birth of Jesus Christ was the best promise fulfilled by God. The deeper I dive into the Bible, more and more promises are revealed to me in a powerful way. As I am studying the book of Exodus and then reading two chapters of Psalms a day, I witness the promises being fulfilled from Genesis in Exodus, and then the praise of the people for God’s mercy and greatness of those fulfillments in Psalms. God delivering his people to the promised land is certainly one of the biggest prophecies fulfilled in the Old Testament.
Genesis 15: 13-14 states, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. But I will bring judgement on the nation that they serve, and afterward, they shall come out with great possessions.”
“I know now that the Lord is greater than all other Gods, because he rescued his people from the oppression of the proud Egyptians.” – Exodus 18:11
Through Moses’s leadership and God’s divine power, the Israelites made it to the promised land.
Psalms 105: 37 shares, “The Lord brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold, and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled.”
God doesn’t forget about his people! God says what he is going to do. He is a mighty God who has had a plan for you, and for me since the beginning of time. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to be a part of the generations who suffered for 400 years, uncertain of when they would reach the promised land. In hindsight, God didn’t skip a beat. Everything he said he would do happened. It’s incredible to read the stories in the bible and watch them unfold. My prayer is that through the month of December, God will reveal more fulfilled promises from the Bible to me in big ways. The fulfillment of prophecy shows us how powerful the God that holds the world in His hands really is! Praise the Lord!
As December 1st approaches, I will be wearing ugly Christmas sweaters, plaid, and sequins any chance I can, but I had to share one last stereotypically fall outfit with you guys! This body-con dress was a gift from John’s mom that she brought back from a Canadian department store. The pattern and colors are perfect for the months of October and November. It just so happens that my orange Madewell tote matches the dress perfectly! I finished off the look with my lace-up suede jacket and fringe suede boots! Get ready for super cozy and festive looks on the blog!
Have a blessed week!
