Bathing suit shopping is downright challenging! Holy smokes! I must have tried on 30 + swimsuits before buckling down on my final selection for this trip to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. I wish I could provide you guys with a ‘how to’ guide in swim shopping, but my only advice is that it’s a numbers game and quality matters in this category of shopping. I wish Target coud be my one-stop shop for swim, but looks like I need to spend about $100 for a fashionable and perfectly fitting suit! I’ve decided that it’s 100% worth the investment. Quality over quantity is key in this area for me. When it comes to swimwear, there is not a one size fits all and it can be downright discouraging. My encouragement to you is to love your body, always. When you have found a suit that makes you feel extra confident, swipe that credit card girl!
In the last two months or so after coming back from Mexico, God has put the word ‘encouragement’ on my heart. I am so incredibly blessed to be surrounded by a strong and selfless group of women who send me texts out of the blue asking how they can pray for me, sending notes of positivity, and scripture verses that they feel called to share with me. After receiving a few sweet messages back to back, it hit me that I was not returning the favor. Of course in those conversations I will always ask how I can pray for them in return, but I want to be the one to start the words of encouragement, not just be on the receiving end (even though it feels so good).
We all know that the news and social media are usually avenues that are the opposite of uplifting and inspiring, and in fact, typically leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. It’s frustrating for me and quite energy sucking to go down that rabbit hole, reading comments that are spreading anything other that love. God’s love is so strong for each and every one of us, and the Holy Spirit speaks through us to other people. You are the light in somebody’s day. Speak up and share your love for someone randomly. Whether that’s a verbal compliment, a sweet text, comment on Facebook or Instagram, they will appreciate it more than you know! I know I do.
‘For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.’- Romans 15: 4
God speaks directly to our hearts through His words in the Bible and through prayer. If we are not getting our daily bread, we may feel a lack of encouragement from God. He wants to encourage us. He made you. He loves you. He thinks you are positively amazing.
