What time is it? DONUT TIME! It’s here! It’s here! Happy National Donut Day 2017. I’m celebrating this year’s holiday with Goodtown Doughnuts in Costa Mesa. My tradition for the past few years has been to try new donut shops for NDD (National Donut Day). Last month, I stumbled across Goodtown Doughnuts and their ‘handcrafted brioche’ goodness and it was love at first sight! While these delicious pastries are well worth the $3.80 a pop, I couldn’t bring myself to order a dozen to try each flavor, so I needed to make my selection carefully. I was quite interested in trying a vegan option, but I went for the strawberry lemonade because I couldn’t resist pink frosting (per the usual). John is a sucker for handcrafted donuts too, so I bought him a toasted coconut to go!
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me and he’s anointed me to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted.” -Isaiah 61: 1
Goodtown Doughnuts = Good news right? Last Sunday at church we learned about how God has anointed all believers to spread the good news. That’s why I love sharing the Word through the Donut Diaries! Did you know that you could be anointed by God? I never really thought about until it last weekend when I had this topic broken down for me at church. Rick Warren shared in his message that “God’s Holy Spirit gives you insight, ability, stamina, authority, and protection that you don’t normally have in order to do a job He has chosen for you to do!” What’s the job you were chosen to do? I would love to hear and encourage you! Comment below!
Have a blessed week!
