Being a February baby, I am particularly appreciative of Valentine’s Day! Give me all the pink and red decorations, chocolate truffles and conversation hearts, balloons and roses this world has to offer, and I will never think it’s overkill. Although I love me a good date night, Valentine’s Day, in my opinion, is better spent at home than at a crowded restaurant. There is nothing romantic about making a reservation and then still having to wait 45 minutes for your table, slow service from you waiter, and overpriced set menus. Twinkling tea candles, a home cooked meal, and Frank Sinatra on the record player is my idea of the perfect V-Day! Not to mention, this is my first Valentine’s day as Fiancé and Fiancée! Oh la la.
So if I stay at home on Valentine’s Day, does that mean I will be wearing sweat pants? No way, José! Call me crazy, but I still like to dress up for a dinner date at home! Heels and all. This MSGM sheath dress makes a V-Day statement and doesn’t require all the bells and whistles. Outgoing sleeve details are a trend that I am just starting to tap into, but so far, I’m loving this style! My one disclaimer is that wearing a third piece is nearly impossible with this type of sleeve, so let’s hope for some moderately warm weather here soon! Limited accessories and simple silver shoes to complete the look, and boom, you’re done. Rebecca Minkoff made a heart shaped cross-body this season and the feminine shape with the contrast of the chain detail is to die for!

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
What an easy and powerful verse to commit to memory! We live in a human world where our hearts are easily influenced by daily sin that we see, watch, and hear. No matter how hard we attempt to have a pure heart on our own, it’s impossible without the holy spirit! Only the Lord can create a pure heart in us! Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and meditate on this Psalm! Create in me a pure heart, O God!
Have a blessed week!
