Eilat, Israel- Exodus 14:21

Read Sea. Dead Sea. Mediterranean Sea. Sea of Galilee. How’s a girl supposed to keep all these seas straight? I’ll tell you, my geography skills were surely sharpened on this vacation. Between floating in the Dead Sea and snorkeling in the Red Sea, I am slowly overcoming my fear of being in the water (#goals)!

For a Southern California native, it may shock you that my swimsuit collection is exceptionally small, especially for a fashion obsessed woman such as myself. Between the ages of 16 and 19, I bought ONE swimsuit! ONE! Over the next 3 swim seasons, I bought two bikinis from Victoria’s Secret. Did you know they are eliminating their swimwear line? Cue the tears. During my closet clean out last year, even some of those suits were retired! In the last two years, I bought a red/white/&blue suit for the 4th of July. AND THAT’S IT! Until now.

I was on the hunt for the perfect modest, yet stylish one-piece for my trip to Israel. First retailer I tried was Nordstrom, and of course I found THE ONE. This Becca ‘Siren’ Appliqué one-piece was a dream. Black is classic and slimming, and the deep v and peek-a-boo details had me with my credit card out ready to go! I fell so in love with the one-piece, that it will be hard to get me back into a bikini! Until I hit the water, it’s rare that anyone would spot me just chilling on the sand in my bathing suit, so I am always in a coverup, usually a sundress. However, I have had these Roxy linen pants for three years, and they are SO COMFY, even paired with tee, floppy hat, and sandals. Because they are black, you can’t spot the wrinkles, which makes packing them a no brainer!

Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.

Exodus 14:21

Israel is surrounded by vastly different bodies of water and they all play a part in the Old Testament and Jesus’s life. We all know the classic story of Moses parting the Red Sea. However, while Moses was an incredible prophet, it’s important to remember that it was God who parted the Red Sea for Moses. He didn’t have that power without God! It was a magical experience being the waters of the Red Sea and just imaging what was happening in Israel 2000 years ago!

Have a blessed week!
