Some of my favorite memories from my childhood involve attending my family friends’ holiday parties. Who doesn’t enjoy endless cheese and crackers, Santa making an appearance, and singing the 12 Days of Christmas until our parent’s ears started to bleed? Now I am at the stage in my life where my best girl friends are hosting their very own Christmas parties. A true sign that we are all grown up. Wine, white elephant gifts, and charades are the new norm.
If I’m not wearing a
cute UGLY Christmas sweater to a holiday party, you will find me in all the sparkle, shimmer, and shine this world has to offer. This h.i.p. metallic skirt from Nordstrom (another Kids’ department find) has just the right amount of shimmer without being over-the-top and I am obsessed with the length being right at the knee. I paired it with a fitted charcoal gray turtleneck layered under a velvet camisole. As we have seen the layering trend evolve this year (see my slip dress styled over my crew neck tee HERE), layering camisoles over turtlenecks are a thing now, unbeknownst to my sweet sweet boyfriend who asked me why I got dressed backwards.
The finishing touches of sparkle are from my most recent delivery of Rocksbox Jewelry. This months subscription came complete with a statement choker, a platinum drusy bangle, and marbled earrings. Just the touch of Hollywood glam that a holiday party needs! I am still offering my promo code StyleServantXOXO for your first month of Rocksbox free!

When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!
This year I have been studying the book of Matthew and was taught that the stereotypical Nativity Scene that we all know and love is actually historically inaccurate! WHAT THE WHAT?! Let me break it down for you, the wise men were NOT present Jesus’s birth! AND there was more likely more than three men. So yes, I am telling you that these fellows did not see a baby in a manger. However, they did see a rising star at the time of His birth. The same star they had seen in the East guided them to Bethlehem over thousands of miles directly to the HOME of Mary and Joseph. When they arrived, they immediately worshiped Jesus and offered him gifts, but at this point Jesus was a toddler! Holy moly, right? I am so inspired by the story of the star that led these men to Jesus. Could you imagine how brightly it must of sparkled, shimmered, and shined? What a glorious sight it must have been!
Have a blessed week!
