Laws of Layering- Romans 6:15

Layering can be TRICKY, especially with a quilted vest! When I was styling this look, I must have tried on 10 different variations of the final outfit. I built the ensemble around the plaid North Face vest and experimented with everything from leather skirts and flannel button-ups to camo pants and cold shoulder sweaters. However, the striped/embellished sweater and studded boyfriend jeans made the final cut.

Here’s why.

The subtle details. The vest, sweater, and boyfriend jean combo is not an original idea, BUT the sweater with embellishments allows me not to wear overstated jewelry, and the studs on the side of the denim dresses up a casual pair of jeans! A quilted vest this warm isn’t meant to be paired with a jacket overtop. Instead, the layering is all done underneath. I have been layering thin turtlenecks under all my crewneck sweaters for extra style and warmth. Cozy, chunky turtlenecks are a major trend this season, but thin layering turtlenecks have a totally different purpose in your winter wardrobe. December calls for all things sparkle, so a fabulous Kate Spade glittery clutch is no exception! A clutch this amazing deserves to see the light of day, even if it is meant to be an evening bag!

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!

Romans 6:15

When Jesus walked the Earth, died, and was resurrected, he shattered what everyone believed about law, sin, and punishment. During Jesus’s life, he taught that we are no longer under the law of Moses, but saved by His grace. The Bible outlines sin in the New Testament very differently than that of the Old Testament. However, Paul is sharing that we are not to live a life of habitual sin simply because we are saved by grace. Being ‘saved by grace’ means that our hearts our changed! Because we are not designed to be perfect, Jesus is our savior and the King of forgiveness! Praise him for being born!

Have a blessed week!
