TIME IS FLYING my friends! I need about 106 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas to accomplish all my holiday to-do’s, and we get 30 days. 30 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS is just simply not enough. Just last week I was baking an apple pie for Thanksgiving, Black Friday weekend is already behind us, and now my decorations are up and twinkling! It’s time to start planning how we are going to celebrate the season of our sweet baby Jesus’s birth.
But first, let me recap Thanksgiving! This Turkey-Day, I mean Day of Thanks, was particularly special. John’s family hosted my family for a dual Downing-Kelley Thanksgiving extravaganza. Two sets of parents, two sets of siblings, and one BIG feast. There was a cornucopia of cheese selections, blueberry beer, a glorious turkey, and the first homemade apple pie I ever baked! I ate myself into a food coma and then napped on the couch with my sister until we could see straight again. Into the wee hours of the night, we all quizzed each other on Thanksgiving Trivia and shared what we were thankful for. It was my favorite Thanksgiving EVER.
Okay, now we can move into full fledged Christmas mode! Let’s talk holiday attire and gifting. While I wore this floral ruffle tea dress by Topshop for Thanksgiving, it could easily translate into the perfect ensemble for a holiday event. Christmas parties don’t need to scream sparkle, red/green, and ugly sweaters (even though I love when they do!) I am trying to be more practical with my party dress selection so that I can wear them year-round and not be confined into a December 1st-December 31st timeframe. The high neckline and open back detail made this dress perfect for dinner with our families.
I accessorized this look with my newest timepiece from Jord Watches. When my Frankie Watch arrived at my front door, it felt like an early Christmas present! And, the mint-colored face of the watch matched the dress I wore for Thanksgiving to a tee! I didn’t know what to expect from a real wood watch, since all my current timepieces are metal. I was delighted at how lightweight the watch was! The sandalwood band creates a more casual vibe while the pop of color in the classic face dresses the watch right up. Style is all about creating a moment, while being versatile and balanced, and Jord Watches are just that!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Wearing a watch everyday makes us extremely aware of time. Time is either passing slow at work or going by to fast at a party. While time continues to move us into the future, Jesus is a constant that will never change. He is the same today as he was yesterday and 2000 years ago, and the same for the remaining of Earth’s existence into all of our heavenly eternity. Whenever I feel like life is passing me by, I can reflect on this verse and remember that time is all in God’s hands!
Have a blessed week and remember to get your $25 Gift Card HERE
