Old Navy for the Win- Romans 15:13

Spring cleaning has a whole new definition after this weekend! After my boyfriend read the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, we practiced one of the exercises it recommended for closet cleaning. We dumped every clothing item I own (gently) on the bed and all my shoes on the floor (in a delicate fashion). I then held up each piece and had to express whether or not this item brings me JOY. Three hours later, I had realized that many of my beloved articles of clothing actually brought me stress due to lack of proper fit, not having the right items to complete the look, or they were simply worn out. The final count of donated items was 120 clothing/accessory items and 30 pairs of shoes! For once in my life, I now have space in my closet and piece of mind when selecting an outfit in the morning.
This idea really took flight after I went on a shopping rampage at Old Navy and purchased 12 new articles of clothing in a matter of 45 minutes. If I have to pick a favorite, this floral culotte jumpsuit has to be at the top! The drawstring waist and the cropped length is flattering for my petite frame. It’s no surprise here that florals are fit for spring, but this color combination of lavender, blush, and mustard stole my heart! Not to mention, it matches my favorite Rebecca Minkoff cross-body bag!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to be content with my material possessions. Well… I had a come to Jesus moment when I took all my clothes out of my closet and realized the excess. The moral of this closet clean out was that having fewer material items brought me joy. I don’t need clothes to do that, I need God to do that through the Holy Spirit!

Have a blessed week!
