Wednesday marks the half way point between Weekend One and Weekend Two of Coachella! No, I did not attend Weekend One. And no, I will not be attending Weekend Two. However, I am appreciating all the festival fashion and iconic style of the music scene that influences spring and summer trends to come! Coachella is the new version of Fashion Week where every attendee is on a giant lawn of a runway. Free spirited and bohemian would not be two words to describe my personal wardrobe, but I love to dabble in fashion outside of my comfort zone.
A few weeks back, I made a mental list of all the trends for spring trends that were lacking from my closet. The biggest trend that was missing was an off the shoulder blouse (a festival must-have). After trying on a sizable amount of tops that were ill-fitting, I found exactly what I was looking for at Nordstrom. This 4SI3NNA crop top laid perfectly on my shoulders without slipping down and was the right length to wear with my Jamie high-waisted black jeans from Topshop. Besides the fit, the embroidery on this off the shoulder number is what differentiated it from its competitors. I wanted something more that the typical white lace version I kept seeing.
Because the neckline of this top was so bare, I wrapped my neck in my newest and favorite La Weez Jewelry piece. The creator, Nichole, designs, sources, and crafts these beautiful pieces of art herself. This wraparound chain is a unique necklace she assembled using brass chain from Turkey. I love that I can wear this necklace as a choker, yet it is more dainty and feminine than a typical leather choker to fit my girly aesthetic. La Weez Jewelry is sold in local boutiques around Southern California and you can shop her Etsy Shop Here!

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3: 3-4
Don’t get me wrong, I love jewelry and clothes, but I want people to remember me by my spirit and how I made them feel. Sometimes that internal confidence comes from putting on costume jewelry or a new outfit, but God created us in His image, each beautiful in our own way. He takes more pleasure in how we are grooming our spirit than our appearance! When I am getting ready in the morning, I should be thinking about who God can speak to through me today!
Have a blessed week!
