We owe a big thank you to the 1950’s for Grease, classic diners, and iconic pink jackets! The Pink Ladies were trend setters and their style has evolved with a modern edge. I am obsessed with the hemlines from this generation. The midi-length A-line skirt is a wardrobe staple of mine. If poodle skirts came back in style, I would be all over this trend again!
This floral Aster skirt from Nordstrom is the perfect combination of the 2016 Pantone colors of the year: rose quartz and serenity. Because I was layering with more blush tones, I stuck to a plain white tee from H&M. These organic cotton tees are two for $10! This Pink Ladies inspired jacket is a fantastic spring layering piece: leather, quilted, and lightweight. To top off the look, I chose my three-tiered pink pearl necklace that is actually vintage!

“Cast all you anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
When I dream of time travel, I often envision myself experiencing decades past, particularly the 1950’s. Who wouldn’t want to be Sandy from Grease? Many times, this time period gets dismissed for being old fashioned, and often the Bible also gets overlooked for the same reason. I beg to differ! There are many verses in the word of God that were written with cultural context, but 1 Peter 5 shows us that the word speaks relevant truth. We can and always will be able to cast our anxiety on Jesus because he cares for us! He wants us to have internal peace with him and what he offers is eternal!
Have a blessed week!
