Let me be frank… I am not a bargain shopper! I wish I was, but I never have been, but I really should be. My shopping habits have dramatically improved, but if I could still use practice in shopping more strategically. However, sometimes while browsing with dear friends of mine, they spot one of a kind deals that I can’t pass up. This look for example composes of two MAJOR designer bargain finds. Marisa, my New York travel buddy spotted these Vince heels at the Union Square Nordstrom Rack for under $50. This Aden Sandal in black was originally $450. That money saved could buy me groceries for 6 months! Or like 9 other pairs of shoes… Just kidding.
My other fantastic NY find was this suede fringe skirt by the brand Olivaceous I purchased at Crossroads Buy Sell Trade boutique for $27 (originally $78). A fringe skirt has been on my wish-list for months, but finding the right one was a challenge. I love that this skirt is taupe and can be paired easily with black to avoid looking like a costume piece. I couldn’t help but swing my hips everywhere I walked to watch the fringe sway back and forth. I was quite easily entertained!
Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need… So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?
Matthew 7: 7-11
Have you ever put God to the test? “God, if you do x,y, and z, then I will do… (fill in the blank).” I know I have! A distinct memory of mine from high school was telling God that he got a boy that I liked to talk to me, then I would sing out loud in church. In this case, I got my way. However, I have learned that this is not the way to bargain with the King of Kings. We should ask the Holy Spirit to direct our lives and fork over our end of the deal before God gives us our half. We need to have faith. God blesses those who trust His outcome instead of playing the game of cat and mouse. It’s okay to ask God for what we want, but we don’t have to make a deal with him. He is so much more powerful than that!
Have a blessed week!
