Canadian Thanksgiving- 2 Corinthians 9:15

Turkey day came early for me this holiday season! We haven’t even celebrated Halloween yet, and I was fortunate enough to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with my Canadian boyfriend, John! He discovered a networking group called Canadians in Orange County who put together celebratory functions during Canadian holidays. This event was hosted at the Center Club Orange County in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts plaza. It was fantastic company and… an open bar! If I am lucky that means I can finish a glass and a half of white wine in 4 hours. When it comes to the food, I have to admit, maple-infused everything gives American Thanksgiving a run for their money.
While digging through my dresses collection in my closet, I pulled out my 70’s inspired Missoni look-alike body-con. I love how the pattern helps disguise my post turkey-coma filled stomach. I have had this dress for years, but if I had gone shopping for this event, I would have purchased this 70’s Topshop dress found here. Because this was a sit-down function, I broke out my four-plus inch Michael Kors peep-toe lace up booties I bought at Fashion Night Out in LA a few years back. I have learned my lesson of bringing small bags with no strap, so I opted for my Marc Jacobs Natasha bag. Because of the warmer hues in my outfit, I chose copper jewelry to offset the browns and tans! Now the decision is what to wear for Thanksgiving next month!

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
2 Corinthians 9:15
Everything we possess and accomplish is a gift from God. We may think we have our careers due to the fact that we interview well or met the right person, but who gave us those skills and opportunities? God did. We may think that we have the perfect apartment because we had good credit, but who gave us our finances? God did. I have to admit, my giving thanks and glory to God is usually on track when it comes to thanking him for my possessions, but not always on track for thanking him for my circumstances. I like to think that it was my own good standings that brought me to where I am today, but it’s God’s blessings! He gives us EVERYTHING we have and to him the credit is due!

Have a blessed week!
