Carrie Bradshaw once boldly stated, “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future… This is known as Fashion Week.” Having been to both New York and Paris during Fashion Week, admittedly not for Fashion Week but coincidentally, has made me spoiled in the thought process that if I am not in the major cities during the biggest weeks of the year in fashion, that I am missing out altogether. With social media allowing runway show attendees to post in the moment, I have been able to stay up-to-date with both New York and London shows this past week! Thank goodness for Instagram! As Los Angeles has become a satellite for American Fashion Week, Orange County has become a satellite satellite of American Fashion Week. Having accessible runway shows at my fingertips is such a thrill! Style Week OC at the Irvine Spectrum is really making a name for itself. Seeing local boutiques, major brand names, and department stores come together to put out each of their twist of fall trends is really an interesting and successful experiment. Nick Verreos from Project Runway was the host this year’s show and introduced the contest for Celebrity Cruise’s FIDM Design Contest.
For this generation of fashion gurus, it sad to say that what people where to fashion shows is showcased more in the media than what is walking down the runway. So naturally I panic planning out what to wear to our local Fashion Week. I selected my favorite fall romper from my closet by 1 State from Nordstrom that I purchased last fall. The high neckline and mock-mock collar is a major trend this season that I am currently obsessed with. Also, patterned tights are perfect to pair under an all black look for a subtle detail. Because all black is not my natural state of dressing, I of course had to add a pop of color in my shoes. My magenta booties always seem to save me in a fashion crisis! I have learned to travel lightly to fashion shows, so a handbag didn’t make the cut this time around!

When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
Fashion shows give me an adrenaline rush unlike anything else! However, this Bible verse is so insanely true. When I am feeling down in my faith, thinking to what Jesus has done and continue to for everyone, but also me specifically, I get a new rejuvenated, energy pumping feeling that flows through my veins! When I am feeling the most at peace in my life, it is combining my love of Jesus with fashion, hence why my blog is so important to me!
Have a blessed week!
