I need a vacation, like yesterday. As much as I would love to travel the world and explore new countries, this living-on-my-own financial situation has me all tied up. So what’s a girl to do? Weekend getaway? Staycation? Day trip? All of the above. Yup, that sounds great. Now I just need to find the time! My wardrobe is calling for a Palm Springs adventure, a city I have always had a fascination with. So instead of driving out to the dessert, I spent the morning chilling poolside at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. It’s definitely, sorta the same thing?! Because of my fair skin, laying out for me involves clothes (Being fully clothed to be exact). I just can’t tan, it just won’t happen. This darling Topshop romper was a summer sale item I snagged this season for only $19. Must-have pool accessories include a straw floppy hat and sunglasses, but I think that is obvious. This time around, I chose to go very matchy-matchy with my bright color palate. My nail polish (Butter London) and my jelly flats (BCBG Generation) matched the same sea-foam green in my romper! As much as I try think outside the box, sometimes keeping the colors simple is my best bet!

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Water has a lot of symbolism in the bible. One of my favorite examples of symbolism is baptism by submersion. When we accept Jesus into our heart, one of the next steps is publicly declaring your faith through baptism. This doesn’t mean in front of a crowd necessarily, but in front of people that you want to share that moment with. As we are dunked under the water, we symbolically allow the old life to die, and the new life to take ahold of us, now living with the Holy Spirit in us. Baptisms are just one of the many next steps we can take in our walk with God. Have you thought about what your next step might be?
Have a blessed week!
