Knott’s Berry Farm- Psalm 56:3

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with rollercoasters. Now, keep in mind, that I had to meet the height requirement for these thrill rides. Knowing that I am just shy over five feet tall now as a young adult, just imagine how small I was as a child! Nevertheless, as soon as I could stand on my tip-toes to reach the evil ruler, I conquered every ride that I could make my parents wait in line for. Fear has always been (and always will be) nonexistent in my love for rollercoasters. As I get older, my body does feel the aftermath of being tossed around, going upside down, and rattling side to side, but I won’t let this stop me! This past weekend, my best friend Vince flew in from the East Coast and we conquered Knott’s Berry Farm in just under four hours! Devouring chicken fingers and the famous berry punch were first on the to-do list! We managed to ride our favorite Knott’s classic rollercoasters: Boomerang, Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, and Ghostrider.

I made a rookie mistake when planning my outfit for this adventure, I wore slip on shoes that could have fallen off while my feet dangled above ground! However, my blush espadrille flat by Halogen from Nordstrom was extremely comfortable to walk around all evening in and luckily, they stayed on my feet while upside down. My second mistake was wearing my Free People lace tunic. While I love how it flows when meandering around, buckling up most seat belts went between the legs, and you can only imagine how this was a struggle! As for my hair-do, I finally got something right! Putting my hair in a ponytail was the perfect decision. Carrying my Marc by Marc Jacobs cross-body bag was just big enough to hold my wallet and sunscreen! When going to an amusement park, it is so important to think about fashion as a function. I am definitely going to learn from my mistakes I made this time around!

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3
Getting yourself buckled into a rollercoaster is putting your faith in God. I mean, I trust physics, but I am putting my life into God’s hands as soon as that ride takes off! Sometimes real life can be a rollercoaster of events and emotions, many of which can cause fear, but this verse is such a simple reminder that we can pull to the front of our minds when we start to feel afraid. Just think, ‘When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.’
Have a blessed week!
