Filing Taxes, Fun Times

Moving out, canceling my Disneyland pass, and now filing taxes… WHO AM I? Don’t fret my friends. I create fun out of the most ordinary of events because life is too short to be bored. My roomie, Julia, and I made a late night coffee shop date to Byul in Irvine to file our taxes. Please don’t judge, but anyone who knows me, knows that coffee is not really my thang. I prefer tea, but the raspberry mocha latte that I ordered was Heaven in a cup. Not to mention, it was raining outside, so the evening was just as cozy as it gets. I mean, I was wearing a fuzzy cobalt blue sweater which was soft as a blanket, and a mustard scarf which warmed my heart. When going colorful on top of the outfit, I wanted to simplify and balance out my bottom half by wearing my slouchy AG boyfriend jeans and new Old Navy grey booties.

Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Romans 13:7
Filing taxes is all rainbows and sunshine when you are getting a cushy tax return, but I am not looking forward to the day that I will owe money during tax season. However, no matter my pain of writing a nice check to the IRS hurts my soul, the Bible calls us to pay what is owed and I want to do it with a heart that is not holding onto my money too tightly. I love how this verse compares taxes to paying respect and those who in which honor is owed. No matter what somebody deserves, we are children of Christ called to act in a way that honors our Father above.
Have a delightful week!
