Reason for the Season

If I am being honest, working in the retail world during the holidays is overwhelming to say the least! I love gifting to my family and friends, but in between shopping and crafting, I continue to remind myself not to forget the true meaning for Christmas! As I have mentioned before, my family has had on-going traditions during December including the Nutcracker Ballet, Heritage Hill Historical Park, Roger’s Gardens, Five Crowns Dinner, and endless more. However, my favorite new tradition is attending the Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at my church. The service starts at 11pm, and by midnight, we are singing Silent Night¬†with candles in hand as the clock strikes Christmas. I chose to sport my green tweed Topshop dress and gold metallic tights as a festive look for this jolly occasion!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
It is amazing to think that the holiday of Christmas hasn’t been celebrated since the beginning of time. This day came about to celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. He is the king of miracles from the setting of his birth, to his death and resurrection. Born in a manger, everyone knew how special this baby was and how he would grow to change the heavens and the earth for eternity. Enjoy this time with your family and friends exchanging gifts and making memories, and remember to give thanks to God for this special day. Because of this event, we stop during the end of the year to celebrate our salvation, even though it feels like we are losing our sanity!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
