I take a deep breath in panic, and relief, as I realize that Christmas Eve is exactly one week away. I am putting the finishing touches to my gift shopping and plan to spend the next two days as a ginger elf, wrapping my life away. While working in the mall, it’s impossible to forget that Christmas is screaming in your face, but I love my family’s traditions that carry on after hours. For example, the past four years, the Kelley’s bundle up for the Mission Viejo Holly Jolly Trolley Christmas Light Tour that meets at the public library and shuttles us around to see the award winning houses. This replaces our yearly trip to Santa’s Workshop where we would deliver our letters to Mr. Claus. For this trip down memory lane, I wore my favorite new Free People slip, black cropped sweater, thigh-high socks and booties.
You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.
2 Corinthians 3:2
While the Bible is our Word of God, everyday we act as a letter, being read by our peers and loved ones. Our testimonies are stories being written on our hearts and showcased through our actions. I know I would be the antagonist of my narrative if it wasn’t for the Holy Spirit. My life is crazy-insane busy, and I am trying so hard to take these moments and appreciate the real miracle that the Christmas season is!
Have a delightful week!
