Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches? I feel as though I got an incredibly slow start to the Christmas season, but here it is! The most magical time of the year has arrived. If I am being honest, my family is all about the fake tree due to laziness, which is why I felt nostalgic to spend some time in a real Christmas tree lot. Here in Southern Orange County, we experienced a few days of rain and temperature below 60 degrees, so I broke out my rain boots because I knew those days are scarce. Ugly sweaters are my guilty pleasure, so I paired this Topman snowman sweater with my feminine pearl collared blouse and black leggings.
“For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
As I researched verses about trees for this Christmas post, I ironically enough chose a verse that actually comes from the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. As Jesus is carrying His cross, He turns to tell the people of Jerusalem, to not weep for him, but to weep for themselves. Without Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice, we would all be dried up trees that attract fire, versus a green tree that is fruitful and further resists harm. During this Christmas season, let’s all attempt to be like plump pine trees with beautiful ornaments and not be the shriveled up Charlie Brown tree that gets left in the street!
Have a merry week!
