Every year as I grow older, I feel as if I didn’t get a chance to truly appreciate the holiday season. Compared to previous Thanksgivings, this was definitely one of my favorites as I felt I had extra blessings to be thankful for. On this Day of Thanks, I woke up at the butt-crack of dawn to run the Turkey Trot, a 10 K in Huntington Beach. If you are anything like me, you didn’t realize that the ‘K’ in 10 K stood for Kilometers. That translates to 6.2 miles, which became great motivation to feast more than I normally would for Thanksgiving dinner at my God parents’ house. Their home was festive and the perfect setting for turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy, OH MY. Planning my outfit for this occasion was quite delightful as I settled on my Topshop cheetah mini-skirt and silk button-down blouse, black tights, and brown booties.
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
This verse is pretty self explanatory, yet difficult to follow. I am doing my best to always open my prayer with thanks and gratitude before begging for things I want in my life. I don’t want to take for granted the life God has given me. I know giving thanks in ALL circumstances sounds extremely challenging, but it’s a challenge I am willing to take on!
Have a joyous week!
