While fashion weeks are happening all over the world, I was able to embrace Orange County’s Style Week with open arms and participate in a way that I hadn’t anticipated! When I found out at work that Nordstrom was not only closing the show, but that I would be helping our freelance stylist from our Fashion Office write up the looks and then be able to blog about the event for not only Style Servant, but for our store’s social media as well, you can only imagine how my fashion-obsessed heart was jumping for joy. The excitement continued as I remembered that Nick Verreos, celebrity designer from Project Runway would be hosting the event and showcasing his Spring 2015 collection. Because I was heading straight from running around at work to the fashion show, I threw on a metallic pleated camisole by Topshop found here and my black high-rise J Brand jeans found here.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Just as God created mankind in his image, fashion designers utilize models as blank canvases to create women in their image. Designers use heavy make-up, extravagant clothes, and bold accessories to create a specific image that reflects their idea of what a woman’s appearance should be, but God cares about the image of our heart. God wants our character to shine outwardly to reflect the image of Jesus Christ. In the catwalk of life, I want to be a model for God, walking on the runway that he has designed for uniquely for me!
Have a glorious week!
