State Street, Santa Barbara: Road Trip Part 1

From time to time, I am able to follow the yellow brick road. I take some time away from work and my daily routines to travel with the people who are closest to my heart. Last week, my mom, dad, and my sister packed up our duffle bags, and hit PCH for a week-long road trip. Our first stop was State Street in Santa Barbara simply to satisfy our hunger and stretch our legs. We were lucky enough to be led around by a SB local, my sister’s BFF Brooke. If I could design an ideal street in my head, State Street would be it. It was a one-stop-shop for shopping, food, and entertainment, all next to the beach. We paroozed Nordstrom, munched on Napolean’s Macaron’s, and nibbled on McConnell’s ice cream while passing by countless adorable movie theaters. With the temperature being in the mid 80’s and lots of walking around, my daisy sundress and white sneakers were an easy, comfy-cute option to wear.

You’ll travel safely, you’ll neither tire nor trip… Because God will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound.
Proverbs 3: 23-26

No matter where you venture in the world, God is by your side and wants to keep you safe from harm. Traveling to cities that my family was unfamiliar with could have been an unsettling experience if we were not assured daily that He was looking over us. God blessed our trip in so many ways from no car accidents or breakdowns, to not being launched out of our boat during whitewater rafting, to no clumsy tripping into a cavern a couple hundred feet into the earth. I am so thankful for God’s constant eye over our family during this unforgettable experience.

Have an adventurous week!
