I’m on a Boat

The ocean and I are not friends. The lake and I… we get along alright. Now, I am not here to brag about my sun-kissed skin because who are we kidding here? At least this trip to the Mission Viejo Lake was after 4 o’clock, so I didn’t need any SPF. Going to the lake during the spring time is so peaceful. The sailboats, calm water, and footprints in the sand make for the perfect reflection time. I wanted to be nautical and simple for a change wearing striped high-waisted shorts, a cropped tank with back detail, and leather flip flops.

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
Matthew 14: 28-29
Over the past few weeks, what it means to have faith has been a major focus at Saddleback Church. I loved the sermon where we discussed how first Jesus wants to get into our boat and then we need to get out of our boat when the time is right. Whenever I start to question anything in my life, I want to have a faith in Christ even stronger than Peter’s. I don’t want to look back once I have stepped out into the water. I want to always be heading into Jesus’s arms and in him, I know I won’t be sinking!
Have a rested week!
