Diane. von. Furstenberg. This iconic designer of the legendary wrap dress celebrated her 40th anniversary of the 1974 launch of this staple item with an exhibit at the LACMA. Colors and prints and pop culture, OH MY. I had the opportunity to meet this former princess back in 2012 and was so blessed to be able to have a private tour of the Journey of a Dress exhibit this month. I explored the museum wearing my shocking red, DVF lace dress, a leather vest, a vintage necklace, and black suede wedges.
He was king in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years. 1 Kings 11:42
The significance of the number 40 is not only monumental to the fourth decade of the wrap dress, but is mentioned numerous times as a symbol in the bible. Remember Noah’s 40 days and 40 nights (Genesis 7:4), Israel ate Manna for 40 years (Exodus 16:35), and God allowed the land to rest for 40 years (Judges 5:31). While DVF is the queen of fashion, and Solomon was the King of Israel, Jesus Christ is our King of Kings.
Have a colorful week! xoxo
